Art Educator & Consultant

Madison Fairburn resides in Charlottesville, VA. She received her BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in Art Education in 2008. She is a licensed K-12 Fine Arts teacher in Virginia who specializes in Darkroom and Film Photography. She has taught the entire K-12 spectrum for 13 years, but was fortunate enough to have spent majority of her career with high school students inviting them to fall in love with the film photography process.

She implemented College Board's AP 2D Design with a photography concentration to upper level students and developed the curriculum as students prepared a portfolio under a sustained investigation over the course a year. Additionally, she has taught Photo I & 2 Film and Digital Photography courses, 3D Material Studies, Multi-level Art Studio classes, and Graphic Design.

She currently mentors and consults art educators in surrounding districts with classroom instruction, management, and curriculum planning and design. She has been recognized as a Regional Outstanding Educator by Scholastic Art and Writing in 2019.
